Greater Rochester Area Bicycling Map
Greater Rochester Area Bicycling Map
GTC is pleased to launch an enriched online Greater Rochester Area Bicycling Map. It is a digital discovery tool that depicts bicycling facilities and amenities in Monroe and the 8 surrounding counties. The new map indicates on and off-street cycling opportunities aimed to the casual and experienced bicyclists to encourage active commuting and recreation. The digital resource provides detailed information about facilities to allow users of various abilities to plan bicycle trips that suit their comfort level as cyclists. A secondary objective of the work is to establish and maintain an up-to-date facility database that includes covered bike parking, bike repair stations, and retail shops offering bike repair services throughout the region. The digital update replaces a 2014 hard copy edition that focused on roadway ratings and cycling suitability.
Great care was used to confirm data points, but as conditions change and more facilities and amenities are added, we will need your help to keep up with changes and corrections. If there's something we've missed that you can contribute, please click on the Facility & Amenity Data Collection page.
This project is a component of “Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Program” (UPWP Task 5500- Regional Cycling Map Update) and is funded with federal planning funds made available through GTC’s Unified Planning Work Program. Please contact Active Transportation Program Manager David Staas for more information.
Bike Map Facility & Amenity Data Collection
We are confident the data on this map is true and accurate as of when we collected it, but the only thing that is constant is change. Bicycling facilities will be added, surface conditions will change...
