GTC Board Meetings
The GTC Board is the governing body of GTC, the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region serving greater Rochester, New York.
GTC will broadcast a livestream of the next meeting on this webpage and archive recordings under the Past Meetings tab. Observers will be able to listen to and view a live feed of the meeting, or call in to listen to the audio with a toll-free phone number. Observers will have the opportunity to submit questions and comments via chat, email, text, recorded voice message, or call in real-time during the public forum portion of the meeting.

The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, will hold one of its regularly scheduled Board meetings on Thursday, December 12, at 8:30 a.m at RGRTA, 1372 East Main St. in Rochester, NY. The meeting will also be livestreamed on this page for anybody from the public to observe and participate.

The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, will hold a quarterly Board meeting on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. at RGRTA located at 1372 East Main Street in Rochester. The meeting is open to the public. Individuals may access a video feed online at www.publicinput.com/GTCBoard or access an audio feed by calling toll-free 855-925-2801, meeting code: 8998. People may submit comments via email to GTCBoard@PublicInput.com or by texting C52028 to 855-925-2801. The agenda and meeting materials will be available on the Friday prior to the meeting date on the GTC website: www.gtcmpo.org. The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Rochester, New York, region including the counties of Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates.
The United States Department of Transportation requires every metropolitan area with a population over 50,000 to have a designated MPO to qualify for receipt of federal highway and transit funds.
In 1974, Governor Wilson designated the Rochester Metropolitan Transportation Study as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). In 1975, the organization was renamed the Genesee Transportation Council.

The GTC Board is the governing body of the MPO, Metropolitan Planning Organization. It provides direction and establishes policy regarding the roles and responsibilities of GTC as the designated MPO for the region. The GTC Board approves all activities and work products, including the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
The 27 members of the GTC Board include elected officials from the nine counties of the region, the City of Rochester, and representatives of other local, regional, state, and federal agencies. GTC Board Officers are elected from among the members.

The GTC Board typically meets 4 times a year (February, June, August, and December) traditionally on a Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
GTC hosts the meetings in a hybrid format meaning members, alternates, and public observers may attend meetings in person or remotely via videoconference system.
The GTC Board meets quarterly, or as required. Each GTC Board meeting is open to the public and advertised as such through media outlets across the region. A public forum is included at the beginning of all meetings to allow for public comment on meeting agenda items before GTC Board takes action.
To facilitate remote access and participation, GTC livestreams the meeting event through a website providing access via telephone, computer, or mobile device. GTC has access to multiple methods for members of the community to submit comments despite disability or ability to speak English, upon request.
