Increasing access to reliable internet services is a top priority for Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater As part of our ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide, Frederick County’s Office/Department of Rural Broadband Information has received a FY24 Home Stretch - Difficult to Serve Properties Grant from the Office of Statewide Broadband. This grant is specifically designed to provide wired broadband to addresses that are currently unserved due to their distance exceeding 300 feet from existing service lines.
Program Details
- Each address may receive up to a total of $14K applied to the construction.
- Addresses with long driveways exceeding 1,000 feet may need to contribute to the construction cost.
- Addresses lying less than 1,000 feet from the current service line may be eligible for 100% funding.
How to apply:
- Funding for this program is limited and will be distributed on a first-come basis.
- The deadline for applying is December 31, 2024.
