About the Annual Update Cycle
The annual update cycle creates a consistent process for reviewing, communicating, and implementing changes to City of Austin development applications and rule implementation.
Throughout the year, the City of Austin will evaluate opportunities to improve applications and related requirements. Updates may be driven by City Council actions, changes to laws or regulations, operational improvements, and feedback from applicants and stakeholders.
Before implementation, proposed updates will be shared through a public engagement process to provide awareness, gather input, and provide advance notice of upcoming changes.
