Sustainability Strategic Plan Survey
Sustainability Strategic Plan Survey
The City of Hendersonville is working on creating its first Sustainability Strategic Plan. The plan will include measurable goals for the City of Hendersonville local government within the identified focus areas of energy, transportation, land management, waste management, and water. Proposed initiatives could include internal policies, increased biodiversity greenspace, energy efficiency measures, community incentives, among others specific to local government. While not the primary focus, the plan will provide recommendations for residential and commercial sectors.
What is “sustainability?” The meaning of sustainability can vary across different fields and disciplines with three constant principles: economic viability, environmental protection and social equity. For the City of Hendersonville, we must have smart growth that is both economically sound while respecting our environment for the collective community.
