2025 SB5076 Shrimp Trawl and rule updates CR-101
SB5076 passed the Washington State Legislature during the 2025 legislative session. This bill authorizes the conversion of Puget Sound Shrimp trawl licenses to newly established Puget Sound nonspot shrimp pot licenses. Additional provisions of the bill include details of harvest allocation, mandatory conversion of trawl licenses upon transfer, alternate operator requirement changes, and the creation of an alternative gear development process via a director’s permit. Rulemaking is necessary to implement the provisions of this bill and will include additional housekeeping rule changes
