Community Area Planning Survey
Community Area Planning Survey
Charlotte has been working with residents to create Community Area Plans that collectively cover the entire city. These plans help guide how the city should grow so that everyone benefits — with more housing choices, more jobs, better access to daily needs like grocery stores, and less harm to the environment.
On November 24, 2025, City Council approved seven of the 14 plans and updated the Policy Map for those areas. The other seven plans were put on hold so the city could gather more public feedback. We refer to these plans as “draft plans” until they are adopted by City Council.
This survey asks for your input specifically related to new recommendations to add to the draft plans to protect neighborhoods and reduce environmental impacts. Your answers will help make sure future growth supports all communities as these new recommendations can also be included within the adopted plans. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.
If you have specific comments or questions about your Community Area Plan, please email cltfuture2040@charlottenc.gov.
