Was ist der TIP und warum ist er wichtig?

Das Verkehrsinfrastrukturprogramm (TIP) ist unser Instrument, um ambitionierte Verkehrsziele für die Region Auburn-Opelika in konkrete Bauprojekte umzusetzen. Das TIP greift Ideen aus unserem regionalen Langfristigen Verkehrsplan (LRTP) auf – Maßnahmen, die wir in den nächsten 20 bis 25 Jahren realisieren möchten – und erstellt daraus eine Liste kurzfristiger Projekte, die wir innerhalb der nächsten vier Jahre umsetzen können.

Das TIP umfasst eine breite Palette von Verbesserungen, von der Instandsetzung von Straßen und Brücken bis hin zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit für Fußgänger und Radfahrer.

Der TIP zeigt auch, wie diese Projekte finanziert werden. Verkehrsinvestitionen in unserer Region basieren auf einer Mischung aus lokalen und Bundesmitteln.

Die aktuellen TIP-Projekte für 2024–2027 stammen aus dem LRTP 2045 .

Welches Gebiet wird vom TIP abgedeckt?

Das Auburn-Opelika MPO-Gebiet umfasst die Stadtgebiete von Auburn und Opelika sowie Teile von Lee County.

Wie werden Projekte für das TIP ausgewählt?

Die Städte Auburn und Opelika, Lee County, das Verkehrsministerium von Alabama (ALDOT), die Bundesstraßenverwaltung (FHWA) und der Lee-Russell Council of Governments (als für die Verwaltung des AOMPO zuständige Einrichtung) beteiligen sich am Kooperationsprozess des TIP. Die Mitgliedsgemeinden wählen die TIP-Projekte auf Grundlage der Empfehlungen der Ingenieure von Auburn, Opelika und Lee County, der verfügbaren Mittel und der folgenden Prioritäten aus:

TIP Projects Are Proposed

Projects are selected from the corresponding period's Long Range Transportation Plan. Auburn, Opelika, and Lee County engineers agree on project priorities and ensure that projects are within budget.

Local governments submit the projects to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), where they are programmed into the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

2024-2027 TIP Is Drafted

The TIP is drafted by LRCOG staff and put before the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board and Committees for review and approval.

TIP Projects Are Amended as Needed

If a highway-oriented project's scope or budget changes significantly, the MPO Board and supporting committees review and amend the project. This amendment process occurs at public MPO meetings.
