The Wake Transit Plan includes bus rapid transit, which will use dedicated bus lanes and priority at traffic signals to help bus operators keep their routes on schedule through four congested travel corridors. Using stations rather than stops, the buses also will be easier to board for those using wheelchairs or strollers.
We are studying creating bus rapid transit along four corridors in Wake County. The video explains features of bus rapid transit that make it different from regular bus service and will help you prepare to answer some questions about what you want to see in your community.
You will then view a series of bus rapid transit alignments, or possible routes, that this type of service could follow and answer questions about which route you prefer and what you think about possible station locations along the route.
Possible bus rapid transit alignments (route options) are indicated by different-colored lines on the maps. Station locations are indicated by numbered circles.
