Wichita - Pawnee
Wichita - Pawnee
Project: Pawnee, from Webb to Greenwich in Wichita
Scope: The project will re-construct the existing 2-lane asphalt mat street with a 3/5 lane street with curb and gutter on Pawnee from Webb to Greenwich. Final lane configuration will be determined as initial concepts are developed and traffic data has been updated from the recent construction/opening of the Southeast High School located at Pawnee & 127th Street. The project will include drainage improvements and a minimum of a 6' sidewalk on each side of Pawnee.
Total Cost: $5 million
WAMPO Funding Request: $3.6 million
Project Background: Since the construction of the new Southeast High School is southeast Wichita, traffic patterns in the area have changed significantly, and there is a need to upgrade the road to urban standards and add facilities for students and staff to safely walk or bike to school.
