Why are we holding a virtual public meeting?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has prohibited mass gatherings and the CDC has recommended using social distancing to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Public involvement meetings are very difficult to perform while practicing social distancing.  Due to these issues, ODOT is now holding public involvement meetings virtually so that social distancing can easily be performed while engaging with the public about transportation projects.

Internet Access Difficulties

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has assumed the Federal Highway Administration’s responsibilities under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated June 6, 2018, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.

The formal comment period for the project starts on July 16, 2020 and will end on September 10, 2020.  Comments after that time are still encouraged by may not be included in the environmental document.
