The City of Asheville’s Board of Adjustment has jurisdiction to hear cases regarding variance requests from the provisions of the Unified Development Ordinance. Additionally, the Board of Adjustment has jurisdiction to hear appeals regarding interpretations of the Unified Development Ordinance, Floodplain Ordinance, Housing Code Ordinance, and Historic District Guidelines.

The Board of Adjustment meets once a month on the fourth Monday of the month in the 1st Floor North Conference Room of City Hall (70 Court Plaza).

VARIANCES & APPEALS
The owner, Edward Llyod Raleigh, is requesting a variance to the Accessory Dwelling Unit standards in Section 7-14-1(3)b Accessory Uses and Structures, Accessory Dwelling Units of the Unified Development Ordinance (“UDO”).
