Board of Adjustment
The City of Asheville’s Board of Adjustment has jurisdiction to hear cases regarding variance requests from the provisions of the Unified Development Ordinance. Additionally, the Board of Adjustment has jurisdiction to hear appeals regarding interpretations of the Unified Development Ordinance, Floodplain Ordinance, Housing Code Ordinance, and Historic District Guidelines.

ADMINISTRATIVE
Approval of the minutes of the February 28, 2022 regular meeting.
VARIANCES
The owners, Benjamin & Tammy Mansell, are requesting a variance to the side setback requirements in Section 7-14-1(a)1 Setback and Yard Requirements and size limitations requirements in Section 7-14-1(b)4() Accessory Structure (Footprint) of the Unified Development Ordinance (“UDO”). The petitioner is seeking an increase in the footprint allowance for any individual structure, an increase in the cumulative total footprint for all accessory structures, and reduction of the side setback to approximately 4 feet with all being located at 46 Baird Street and identified in the Buncombe County tax record as PIN 9649-63-6804.
