2024 Federal Certification
2024 Federal Certification
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) want to hear what you think about how well the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB) plans for transportation improvements and engages with the public.
Over the past four years we have reached thousands of people to share information and get feedback on dozens of projects, plans and other work to plan the future of transportation in our region. This spring, we asked you about our planning process and engagement efforts. Survey results and BRTB responses are posted on the results tab below.
A report from the Federal review team is expected late summer 2024. The report will be posted on this page and the BMC website. Stay Tuned!
About Our Work
The BRTB brings together local governments, transportation agencies, professionals, and community members to plan the future of transportation in the Baltimore region. The formal name of this kind of group is a Metropolitan Planning Organization, or MPO.
We help decide where to invest money for transportation projects. We also work to make sure your voices are heard in the planning process. This helps us plan transportation projects - such as for biking and walking, roads, buses, and trains - that meet the needs of the people who live and work here.
About Federal Certification
- Check if the BRTB is meeting federal planning rules.
- Give suggestions to help the BRTB improve its planning and make better transportation decisions.
- Make sure the BRTB is tackling important transportation issues in the area.
- Confirm that the BRTB is making improvements based on previous advice.
Since we were last certified in 2020, our website and PublicInput Engagement Platform have had tens of thousands of visitors. More than 1,750 people took part by filling out a survey or leaving one of thousands of comments. This feedback has really helped us shape the future of transportation in our region. In addition, we’ve held hundreds of committee and project meetings to ensure we are getting feedback from key stakeholders from around the region.
Now, FHWA and FTA want your opinion on the BRTB's work over the last 4 years. Did you take part? We'd love to hear what you think about how the BRTB is doing!
Visit the other tabs to take our survey or send us a comment by text, email, or voice message!
