Welcome!  This site will guide you through the steps to share your input with Buncombe County to help create our first 20 year Comprehensive Plan! Whether you attend an in-person or virtual meeting, or are participating on your own, your input will help guide the planning process. If you need to get caught up on what this is all about read more on our website HERE

Who is it for?

This site is for everyone who lives or works in Buncombe County, North Carolina. That includes people within city and town limits.

How this works:

At the top of each page is a navigation bar which shows the following steps to complete this activity:

  1. Poll: Take a poll to share your values and opinions about county priorities.
  2. Priorities & Actions: Identify which key topic areas are most important to your community.
  3. Mapping: Identify areas on a map where you want the community to change or stay the same.

What will we do with this information?

Your input will be used to create a Comprehensive Plan for Buncombe County that identifies the community's vision, strategies, goals, and recommended actions for the future.

Once The Plan is adopted, the County can use it as a guide to direct how we spend money in the County, focus on issues that are most important to the community, make policy choices, complete additional plans, apply for new types of funding, and change ordinances and regulations such as the Zoning Ordinance. These actions can impact how the County changes over time.

A paper version of the Poll, Actions, and Mapping activities can be printed from the document below.
