Mecklenburg County Community Relations

Stalking is a prevalent, traumatic, dangerous and often misunderstood crime. Join us as we work to strengthen the community response and improve outcomes for survivors of stalking. A two-hour virtual training session will be offered on June 26, 2026 and an all-day seminar will take place on October 27, 2026, at the Valerie C. Woodard Conference Center (3205 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC).

We hope you can join us at our Age Friendly Mecklenburg Community Summit! Your lived and professional experience will be essential as we collectively determine opportunities, solutions, and partners for moving this work forward! This gathering will be intentional and aiming to connect and shape AFM for its upcoming years. This is a Community Engagement gathering. During the summit, we’ll ground ourselves in the AFM framework, explore who’s in the room, and walk through our updated goals, objectives, and the 8 Domains of Livability. We’ll also engage in a hands-on activity designed to help us identify priorities and shape next-step strategies for Mecklenburg County. Age-Friendly Mecklenburg is an initiative that facilitates the collective planning of not-for-profit, higher education, faith-based, private, and governmental organizations along with community residents to improve the quality of life for older adults.
