Civitan Mini-Pitch Community Survey
Civitan Mini-Pitch Community Survey
In partnership with Austin FC and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) anticipates creating a new soccer mini-pitch for the Austin community at Civitan Neighborhood Park. The project is through the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Safe Places to Play program. This project was initiated as part of PARD’s Community Activated Parks Projects (CAPP) program, which offers a way for the community to initiate improvements on parkland.
The proposed new mini-pitch soccer court project at Civitan Park would be the third court created in partnership with PARD and 4ATX after the ones at Dove Springs and Wooldridge School Park. The court will offer the visitors to Civitan Park, the students of Allison Elementary, and the surrounding neighborhood, a new option for healthy play with one of the fastest growing sports in the country.
In addition to the mini-pitch, PARD is exploring additional opportunities for programming outdoors and would like to gain insight into what community members would like to see happen at Civitan Park.
