The highlighting of land acquisition and connectivity. If we don't act now on these issues, we may not ever have a chance to in the future.

Emphasis on land acquisition. Charlotte is in a race to become the next Atlanta with more congestion and traffic. Why that's a good thing no one has been able to explain. So preserving as much open space as possible- even to leave it as open space- is vital

Building connections within the greenway system. It is my dream to be able to navigate Charlotte without a car.

Commitment to land acquisition and permanent protection of open space to mitigate climate change impacts. Filling gap areas in park poor areas such as the dramatic park deserts in East and South Charlotte.

Nathan No offense, but acquiring a little bit of land here and there for parks on Meck isn’t going to make a difference on climate change. Sure it is nice to think that building a few parks will make a big impact, but really it’s an excuse not based in reality.

The kids have a brokendown outdoor theater, no baby swings, no access to water play, swimming, dog runs. bathrooms ect...Please spend money on the older delapidated parks in poor neigh...See More

Security, Programming and Maintenance Staffing needs will increase and is vital to the comfort, success and usability of all parks, facilities and greenways.

A statement from the County Manager supporting the plan.

Priority areas - focus areas should be places that have no greenway systems now. The northwest side of the county is lacking in both parks and greenways. Areas like this should be prioritized for buying land and development of new projects

ZuriI think for the time frame and addressing what is needed now without being overwhelming, this summary sums up well what Park and Rec needs to focus on first.

Not every park has to be one of grandeur. Pocket parks are amazing features of a large city - especially when there is one <10 min (safe) walk from every household in the city.

We want quality + quantity; but size =/= quality

Cynthia HarrisonAs long as we keep in mind that equity should always be at the forefront of any conversation.

We would love to support parks and rec more, but do not know how. It would be great to have a friends of parks and rec program in Charlotte.

ZuriI'd be interested in reading the Master Plan document. I don't have questions about the summary because it provides an overview and doesn't get into more detail. Understanding how words like "access gaps" are defined, knowing a more specific timeline for achieving the different g...See More
