12th Street Separated Bike Lane Study
The goal of this study is to assess the feasibility of, and develop a concept design for constructing a high-quality, low-stress bikeway along 12th Street, from Walnut Street to Van Buren Street, while improving pedestrian safety and comfort and improving traffic safety where feasible.
This study will include traffic modeling, concept design, alternatives analysis, public outreach, key stakeholder engagement, cost estimates, coordination with DelDOT Traffic, City of Wilmington Planning and Public Works staff, and assessment of future funding opportunities with a goal of moving the concept into a pipeline for engineering design and construction.

12th Street Separated Bike Lane Concept Study, 1st Public Meeting
Join us for the first public workshop to kick off a feasibility study to investigate adding a Separated Bike Lane on 12th Street from Walnut Street to Harrison Street. We will explain the scope of the study, review traffic modeling, and lay out a schedule for the study.

This study will consist of multiple phases which will be punctuated by public workshops and meetings in 2025-2026. The goal is to assess the feasibility of constructing a separated bike lane on 12th Street from Walnut Street to Harrison Street in the City of Wilmington and develop a concept design and cost estimates which would be used to budget this improvement for future project development through DelDOT or City of Wilmington programs.
