City launches new beta website and updated mobile app
The City of Menlo Park is excited to launch a new website that will help us better serve residents, businesses and visitors. At the beginning, we’re launching a beta website with a testing and feedback phase before we make it our official site. For a short time, the public beta site will exist in tandem with our current website. New events and information will be posted to the beta site while the current website remains as an archive for documents. After meeting 2020 goal, much work remains to reach carbon neutrality
The results of Menlo Park’s first ever comprehensive climate action plan progress report are in and as of 2019, Menlo Park successfully reduced its communitywide emissions by 27.5%. The City achieved its 2020 reduction goal one year early. Though these emissions reductions are very encouraging, there is still a long way to reach carbon neutral (90% reduction) in the next eight years. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day is now celebrated statewide
Walk with us Nov. 17 to celebrate Ruby Bridges’ courageous legacy and to show support for social justice, equity and inclusion in our schools. Starting this fall, California will celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day statewide thanks to the tremendous efforts of students from South San Francisco. This year, Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day will be observed Nov. 17. Book your booster vaccination appointment at the San Mateo County Event Center
San Mateo County is offering vaccination clinics throughout the county to anyone 12 and older. Appointments are not required, but residents can see options and sign up through MyTurn. Registration now open for Earthquake Brace + Bolt program
There are more than 1 million houses in high-hazard areas of California that are particularly vulnerable to earthquakes because of the way they were constructed. Many homeowners know their homes are at risk when an earthquake occurs but are unaware that they can help protect their homes with a seismic retrofit. Registration is now open for $3,000 grants program to secure homes in 395 high-hazard ZIP codes, including 94025. Check the field conditions hotline during the rainy season
Public Works closely monitors the condition of the sports fields during the rainy season. The sports fields are closed whenever one-half inch or more of rain has fallen in the previous 24 hours. During inclement weather, the fields are temporarily closed to prevent damage and to alleviate safety concerns. The Field Condition Hotline is 650-330-2590. Users are encouraged to call the Field Condition Hotline to check the field status before heading out for practice.
