City seeks community input on city manager recruitment
People who live, work or use services in Menlo Park are invited to provide feedback on what qualities they think the next city manager should possess. The city manager is appointed by the city council and serves as the chief executive of the city. With the upcoming retirement of current City Manager, Starla Jerome-Robinson, the City Council has retained The Hawkins Company to conduct an executive search. As part of the process, we're seeking community input via a brief survey and two community forums about desired…Click to continue

Flu shot clinic planned for Sept. 18 at Hillview Middle School
COVID-19 is on everyone’s mind – but don’t forget that flu season is almost here, too. The best way to protect yourself and your family is to get a flu shot every year. They have similar symptoms including fever, chills, congestion, cough, muscle aches, nausea, headache and fatigue. Although there is symptom overlap, other signs and…Click to continue

Input needed for San Mateo County redistricting process
Every 10 years, local governments use new data from the Census to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed. State law requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and doing public outreach. San Mateo County is asking for your help to plan and draw new County districts. The finalized maps will help create and define the five San Mateo County district borders and these new districts will impact how you elect your Supervisors for the next 10 years…Click to continue

Proper disposal keeps Menlo Park and the Bay clean
It is easy to forget the importance of keeping debris away from the storm drain inlets. Anything entering the city storm drains flow directly to the bay, affecting the surrounding water, fish and wildlife. To reduce pollution to the San Francisco Bay, nothing other than stormwater is allowed to flow into the City’s storm drains. Some common household disposal types include 1) Paint drop off, 2) Motor oil and filter drop off, 3) Cooking oil recycling, 4) Household hazardous waste (HHW). We are calling on our neighbors to help stop illegal dumping…Click to continue
