Holiday Travel Reminder
Federal Mask Mandate Extended to March 18
The Transportation Security Administration is extending the face mask requirement for individuals across all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, on board commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems.
Masks are required through March 18, 2022. See the TSA news release.
The federal mask mandate was first adopted in January. It has been extended twice since due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Airline travelers should check with their airline on additional inflight restrictions before taking their trip. All commuters and travelers are encouraged to review the CDC website for additional guidance. Exemptions to the face mask requirement for travelers under the age of 2 years old and those with certain disabilities as well as civil penalty fines remain in place.
Information about Charlotte Douglas International Airport's COVID-19 Safe Travel Response is available at cltairport.com. Free face masks are available at all security checkpoint podiums and the visitor information counters in the terminal.
