Update on Apex Town Manager Recruitment:
After a thorough assessment center, the consultant assisting the Town with selecting our next Town Manager has identified the top finalists for the position.
Town Council has been meeting with the finalists and hopes to have a final candidate selected within the next few weeks. (For applicant confidentiality purposes, details about the finalists cannot be shared at this time.) We'll make an official announcement once a final candidate has been selected!

Paralee Smith, of Planning and Communtiy Development, was accepted into North Carolina State University’s “Leadership in the Public Sector” B.A program and will be starting in the fall.
|
|
|
|
|

James Misciagno, Anthony Scott and Jimmy McClure, of Water Resources, were awarded the “Outstanding Local Program” for 2021 by NC DEQ for their work as the Soil & Erosion team within Environmental Engineering. The State received many nominations and Apex was selected as the best program in the entire state.
|

|

Lauren Staudenmaier, of Planning and Communtiy Development, recently passed her AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) exam and well on her way to becoming a certified planner.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Megan Pendell and Val Mera, of Water Resources, hosted a Think Earth Litter Sweep as the Sustainability Team for the Town. They had a total of 16 volunteers and collected a total of 32 bags of litter, 17 for landfill and 15 for recycling.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Joanna Helms, of Economic Development, celebrated her son, Adrian Thompson's graduation from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters in Healthcare Administration. He completed his residency at HCA Healthcare Tristar and at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Keithy McNeill, of Water Resources, celebrated the graduation of his daughter, Destiny, from UNC Chapel Hill on May 15, 2021, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She will be attending Medical School at ECU this fall.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Barbara Belicic, of Economic Development, celebrated the graduation of her daughter, Ally, from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. She will be interning this summer at Vidant Health.
|
