Local minimum wage increases to $15.75 for 2022
On January 1, 2022, the local minimum wage in Menlo Park will increase by $0.50 to $15.75 per hour. The $0.50 per hour increase reflects the maximum allowed inflation adjustment of 3 percent or $0.46 per hour, rounded up to $0.50 as the next increment of $0.05. Absent the inflation cap of 3% set by the municipal code, the actual inflation adjustment would have been 4.9% for the San Francisco area as measured from August 2020 to August 2021 by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. City staff summarized changes to the local minimum wage in Staff Report No. 21-199-CC presented October 12, 2021, to the…Click to continue

Join us for the holiday tree lighting community event
Menlo Park friends, family, and neighbors are invited to help "light up the season of giving" with an outdoor tree lighting ceremony and food donation drive, Friday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. in Fremont Park. Community members are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to others in need. Donated food items will benefit local families with the help of local nonprofit organization, Samaritan House. After the tree lighting, take a stroll down Santa Cruz Avenue and…Click to continue

Input needed for Menlo Park’s redistricting process
Join the Independent Redistricting Commission for an in-person meeting at the Belle Haven Library, 410 Ivy Drive Saturday, December 11 at noon. Every 10 years, local governments use new data from the Census to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed. State law requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and doing public outreach. Menlo Park is asking for your help and input. The primary goal when developing election districts is to draw lines that respect neighborhoods, history and geographical elements. Join us…Click to continue
