Let’s get real about summer travel. It’s a bit of a mess. You know it. We know it. 

The fix is as complicated as the way we got here. Holidays compound the problems the aviation industry is experiencing because more people travel during the summer and holidays than at any other time of the year. 

As we head into July 4 weekend and look to the rest of 2022, customers need to know it's very busy but there are things that can be done to prepare for traveling with Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Busy Travel Days are Here
July 4 Weekend Could Be Busier than 2019

 The Fourth of July holiday will be one of CLT’s busiest travel weekends since the start of COVID-19 in early 2020. The number of people flying to, from and through CLT may even surpass 2019's recording-breaking tallies.  

TSA advises that travelers be inside the Airport - ready to check in or to go through security at least two hours before departure of a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight. Passengers should allow extra time for parking and expect long lines and a crowded Ticketing lobby.
