March 14: Shamrock 4-Miler Run and Kid's Leprechaun Jog

The event begins on Saturday, March 14 at 8 a.m. at StoneCrest Shopping Center. Event organizers expect 500 participants. The route uses Elm Lane, Ballantyne Commons Parkway, North Community House Road and Endhaven Lane. Visit Shamrock 4-Miler for more information

March 14: Charlotte Goes Green Festival

This is the annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival.

Tryon Street from Stonewall Street to 3rd Street, MLK Blvd. from Church Street to College Street, and Levine Ave. from Tryon Street to Church Street will close at 5:00 a.m. March 14 and reopen that evening at 8:00 p.m.

The event hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The estimated attendance for the event is 9,000.

March 14: Charlotte St. Patrick's Day Parade

The parade is on Tryon Street from 9th Street to 3rd Street beginning at 11 AM. Event organizers expect 3,500 marchers and 30,000 attendees. Visit Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day for more information.

March 21: Corvian Green on the Green 5k

The event begins on Saturday, March 21 at 4 p.m. at Corvian Community School on David Taylor Drive. Event organizers expect 600 participants. Visit Corvian Green on the Green 5K for more information.

 

March 21: Elizabeth 8K Road Race

The event begins Saturday, March 21 at 8 a.m. at the Hawthorne Recreational Center. Event organizers expect 800 participants. The route uses Start @ Park Drive at or about Hawthorne Rec Center, E 5th Street, Charlottetown Avenue, Armory Drive, E. 7th Street, Park Drive, Clement Avenue, Bay Street, Pecan Avenue, E 8th Street, Bascom Street, E 7th Street, N Caswell Road, Greenway Avenue, Cameron Avenue, E 5th Street, N Dotger Avenue, Vail Avenue, N Laurel Avenue, Kenmore Avenue, Cameron Avenue, 5th Street and ends at 1830 Park Drive. March 21: Dash for Down Syndrome 5K

The event begins Saturday, March 21 at 8:30 a.m. in the Blakeney Professional Center. Event organizers expect 800 participants. The course includes Blakeney Professional Drive, Audrey Kell Road, Community House Road, Woodland Watch Court, Ardrey Woods Drive, Burnside Lane, Tonawanda Drive, Castlebay Drive, Albury Walk Lane, Hanworth Trace Drive, Hirsch Drive, Lindahi Lane, and Rea Road. March 26: MEX TOUR 2020 Futbol Fiesta

This is a pre-match event for soccer fans to prepare for the game that night.  Event hours are 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The estimated attendance for the event is 20,000.  

Mint Street from Morehead Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard; Graham Street from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to Mint Street; and Stonewall Street from Church Street to Mint Street will close at 10:00 a.m. March 25 and reopen at 6:00 a.m. March 27.

THIS IS A WEEKDAY CLOSURE THAT WILL IMPACT SOME PEAK TIME TRAFFIC IN THE STADIUM AREA.

 

Craft Beer Half Marathon

March 28: Craft Beer Half Marathon

The event begins on Saturday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m. on Green Acres Road North Tryon Street and will end by 11 a.m. Event organizers expect 900 participants. The route uses North Tryon Street, the greenway, Saxonbury, Katelyn Drive, Prosperity Church Road, Mallard Creek, the greenway, Atrium Way, and W.T. Harris. March 28: Get Your Rear In Gear 5K

The event begins on Saturday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m. on Park Drive and Clement Avenue and will end by 10 a.m. Event organizers expect 250 participants. The route uses Park Drive, Greenway Avenue, Cameron Avenue, East 7th Street, Monroe Road, Dunn Avenue, Heflin Street, Orange Street, Sam Drenan Road, Randolph Road, North Laurel Avenue, back to Greenway Avenue. April 3: Cool Globes Opening Event

Cool Globes:  Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet, is a public art exhibition designed to raise awareness of solutions to climate change.  Cool Globes is being brought to Charlotte by Discovery Place.

 

Tryon Street from 6th Street to 7th Street will be closed at 9:00 a.m. and reopen at 4:00 p.m.

 

The event hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

The estimated attendance is 1,000.

April 3: FreeMoreWest 5K on the Greenway

The event begins Friday, April 3 at 6 p.m. at the Greenway. Event organizers expect 300 participants. The route uses the Grandin Road, Litaker Avenue, South Summit Avenue, South Cedar Street, Greenleaf Avenue, West Fourth Street Extension, West Second Street, Walnut Avenue, Lela Avenue, and South Burns Avenue. April 4: Village Heartbeat 5K Walk/Run

The event begins Saturday, April 4 at 7 a.m. at Johnson C. Smith University. The route uses Beatties Ford Road to the McCrorey YMCA. Event organizers expect 500 participants. Visit Village Heartbeat 5K for more information.

 

April 4: Race2Educate 5K

April 4: Frank McLean Memorial Chili for Charity

This is a charity fundraiser and community engagement.  Chili cook-off to raise funds for charity.

 

Commonwealth Avenue from The Plaza to Gordon Street will close at 7:00 a.m. and reopen at 5:00 p.m.

 

The event hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

The estimated attendance is 1,000.

April 11: Mad Park 5K

The event begins on Saturday, April 11 at 8:00 a.m. at Pasta and Provisions on Park Road. Event organizers expect 250 attendees. The route uses Mockingbird Lane, Barkley Road, Longwood Drive, Montford Drive, Bradbury Drive, Murrayhill Road, White Oak Road, Baker Drive, Seneca Place, Lamont Drive, Wedgewood Drive and Terrence Place. Uptown Sidewalk Riding Restrictions

Sidewalk riding is allowed except in the area of Uptown bound by Church St., Stonewall St., College St. and 7th St. This restriction is for bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters. When riding on sidewalks, be visible, courteous and yield to pedestrians at all times.
