Have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine for children?
San Mateo County Health is offering pediatric COVID-19 vaccines at eight sites throughout the county during the month of January. Free and open to the public, these clinics will offer the Pfizer vaccine to children aged 5-11. Advance appointments are encouraged and may be scheduled through MyTurn, but families may also come without appointments. San Mateo County cities launch fair housing survey
The City of Menlo Park, in collaboration with other cities in San Mateo County, is working on a study to determine which residents have the greatest challenges finding housing and what solutions would work best to address the county’s housing shortage. City promotes online services and appointments
In recognition of the continued spike in COVID-19 cases countywide, we want to remind our community of the many services which can be accessed online rather than in person. In person services require advance appointments. Through the city website, municipal water service accounts and businesses licenses can be managed, building permit applications can be submitted, building inspections can be scheduled, police reports can be filed and more. Household hazardous waste drop-off event set for Jan. 22
In partnership with San Mateo County Health, City of Menlo Park hosts periodic household hazardous waste (HHW) events. The next event is Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, 8:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. Examples of HHW are batteries, paint and paint thinner, pesticides and fertilizers, and florescent lights. Menlo Park residents may drop off HHW free of charge by making an appointment. The exact address of the event will be provided once the appointment is finalized. Menlo Park Municipal Water maintains water quality with annual water flushing program
The City conducts annual water main flushing from November through March. This is done as part of scheduled preventative maintenance to maintain good water quality and improve the water flow specifically for dead end water main lines. Dead end water mains are often found at the end of cul-de-sac streets and older neighborhoods. Dead end water mains do not provide enough flow to keep water fresh and chlorine levels present.
