Housing survey deadline extended to September 6
The City of Menlo Park has extended the deadline for the Housing Element Update community survey until September 6. Every eight years, California cities are required to update their Housing Element to plan for much needed new housing. Based on State requirements for housing in the Bay Area, Menlo Park is required to plan for over 3,000 new housing units between 2023 and 2031. Help San Mateo County plan for booster doses with this two-minute survey. Federal agencies are developing plans for a third or “booster” dose of Pfizer and Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines for individuals eight months after their second dose, beginning as early as September 20, 2021. While this plan is still awaiting Food and Drug Administration approval, San Mateo County is already preparing for mass vaccination clinics and would like your thoughts on how to do this best. Environmental documents released for CSBio Phase 3
On Friday, August 27, the City released the Notice of Preparation (NOP) and Initial Study (IS) for the proposed project at 1075 O’Brien Drive and 20 Kelly Court. The NOP is part of the environmental review process and identifies that a focused environmental impact report (EIR) will be prepared for the proposed project. This summer, don’t let an earthquake catch you off guard! The California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) launched the first ever statewide public earthquake warning system, Earthquake Warning California. Californians can receive earthquake warnings with the state’s free MyShake app, which can be downloaded on the Apple App Store or Google Play on smartphones or tablets.
