Vaccine booster clinics scheduled for those with highest risk

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control recommended a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in certain populations and recommended a booster dose for those in high-risk occupational and institutional settings. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine, according to the following guidelines: 1) People 65 years and older. 2) Residents in long-term care settings…Click to continue

Fire prevention starts in the kitchen

Fire Prevention Week is October 3–9. Did you know cooking is the leading cause of home fires and home fire injuries? This year, let’s focus on safety in the kitchen while cooking. Safety tips while cooking: 1) Stay in the kitchen: when cooking in the kitchen, make sure you stay nearby. If you have to leave the kitchen, turn off the stove or oven. 2) Keep your cooking area clutter free: keep your stovetop clean and free of anything that can catch fire. 3) Keep a 3 foot child-free zone around your cooking area. 4) Make sure pets are not underfoot…Click to continue

 

California Coastal Cleanup day in Menlo Park

In honor of California Coastal Cleanup Day, the City of Menlo Park participated in two creek clean up events in the month of September. On September 9 and 10, Public Works staff participated in the Annual Creek Maintenance Walk, in collaboration with San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority.
