County continues prioritizing residents 65+ as vaccine eligibility tiers expand

As vaccine access expands today to eligible essential workers including teachers and law enforcement, the County of San Mateo remains committed to ensuring residents 65 and older receive shots. Approximately 60 percent of San Mateo County residents in that age demographic have already received the first dose of the vaccine. San Francisquito Creek project meetings Feb. 23 and March 2 discuss overview and tree impacts

Reducing the risk of flooding for the communities of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park is one of the primary objectives of the San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority’s (SFCJPA) Reach 2–“Upstream” project. This project includes widening the creek channel in five locations and replacing the Pope-Chaucer bridge. The JPA is planning the project elements that will provide flood protection up to the level of the 1998 flood of record. Grant applications open for struggling brick-and-mortar food and beverage businesses

San-Mateo-County-Strong-Restaurant-Brewery-and-Winery-Relief-Grants

San Mateo County restaurants, breweries and wineries that meet eligibility requirements may apply for emergency relief grants starting Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. Qualifying businesses are eligible for grants of up to $10,000 to help pay employees and rent as well as health and safety modifications and other needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Belle Haven School walk audit survey open through March 12

As part of its countywide Safe Routes to School program, the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) is conducting an online walk audit of Belle Haven School. A walk audit assesses streets in a particular study area, to see how safe and comfortable conditions are for walking and bicycling. The SMCOE is inviting the public to submit feedback in order to better understand the streets in the Belle Haven neighborhood.
