Join for an upcoming document shredding event
In partnership with RethinkWaste, Menlo Park hosts the annual shredding event on Saturday, Aug. 6 Residents and businesses can prevent identity theft by shredding sensitive documents at the City’s popular free shredding event. Confidential document destruction includes items such as receipts, checks, pre-approved credit applications, credit card statements, outdated tax returns, pre-printed envelopes and business cards. …Click to continue

COVID-19 community transmission high in San Mateo County
San Mateo County is in the CDC “high” tier, reflecting substantial virus transmission in the community. As the variants outcompete their predecessors, they are even more transmissible and able to evade the immune response of both vaccination and prior infection, prolonging this period of high community transmission. The county is strongly recommending wearing a high-quality mask in indoor settings and increasing ventilation – such as by opening windows and doors where possible – to help prevent infection. …Click to continue

Temporary overnight parking permits can be purchased virtually
Temporary overnight parking permits can now be purchased online. Each Menlo Park household has access to 50 temporary permits available for purchase between January and June and another 50 available July through December. Proof of residency is required for purchase both online and in person. Permits are $2 each and can be purchased in advance online or in person and used as needed. Residents are invited to the 18th Annual Disaster Preparedness Day on July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Mateo County Event Center. Check out a California State Parks vehicle pass at the library
Library cardholders can now check out a free State Park vehicle day-use pass! The California State Library Parks Pass provides free vehicle day-use entry for one passenger vehicle with capacity of nine people or less or one highway licensed motorcycle at over 200 participating state park units.
