| The Pass at Market Square

The Pass at Market Square is a new recreation area located at the IH-35 elevated highway underpass between Dolorosa and Commerce streets. It features a family-friendly recreation area that includes a basketball court, ping pong tables, swing chairs and tables, murals, and more. The City’s Arts & Culture Department is working with local artists to paint murals on the columns at The Pass that will reflect the history of Market Square.
The Pass is free and open to the public daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Paid parking is available nearby in the Market Square Lot, 612 W. Commerce St. Guests can reserve sports equipment by contacting the Market Square Team at 210-207-8600.

| Ford Holiday River Parade

The 42nd Annual Ford Holiday River Parade is a San Antonio tradition that offers a spectacular one-hour parade along the San Antonio River Walk. This year’s theme, Holiday Stories, will kick off the San Antonio tradition of ringing in the holiday season. This ticketed parade begins at 6 p.m. at the Tobin Center and arrives later in other areas (check map). It is broadcast live at 7 p.m. at the Arneson River Theatre. | Holiday Lights on the River Walk

We invite you to experience the spectacular display of over 100,000 lights (2,250 strings of light) draped over the towering bald cypress trees that line the River Walk. Visiting the River Walk to enjoy the spectacular holiday lights is free. The River Walk is a public park and is open every day of the year, 24-hours a day. Holiday lights are on the downtown portion of the River Walk. Our friends at the San Antonio River Authority have added lights north of downtown on the river in the Pearl District. Downtown San Antonio will come alive this season with the launch of what will no doubt become a time-honored holiday tradition for residents and visitors. Set against the backdrop of one of the city’s most historic and charming promenades, San Antonio Holidays on Houston Street launches November 24 and runs through January 2. More than five blocks of Houston Street (from Legacy Park all the way to the Alamo) will glisten with twinkling lights and oversized décor elements, bustle with entertainers and themed offerings from restaurants, shops, and partners along the way. More exciting activities will be announced, and guests will feel as if they've stepped into a charming European Christkindl Market. The nostalgia of San Antonio holidays will unfold under the soft glow of Houston Street lampposts, recalling memories of Christmas’ past, and inspiring the making of new holiday memories for all.
