Joan Means Khabele Bathhouse at Barton Springs Pool Rehabilitation
May 2026 Project Update
Construction work is expected to be completed in summer 2026. As with any construction project, schedules are projected as accurately as possible and dates are subject to change due to the nature of construction and weather conditions.
Announcements
- The exhibit and main entry at the rotunda continue to experience construction delays. Public entry to the facility will remain on the east side of the building with tickets available online, at the ticketing kiosks, and at Zilker Café building until construction is complete.
- Joan Means Khabele Bathhouse at Barton Springs Pool partially reopened on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
- The partial reopening included the park side and pool side restrooms, and the pool side shower and dressing spaces within the building. It also included the lifeguard office, first aid/breakroom, and locker room. Entry to the pool moved to the east side of the building.
- The front parking lot has reopened, except for a small area on the west side that remains fenced off for ongoing construction work.
- The building’s main entry at the rotunda and the west side remain closed to the public for construction.
