| El Grito Cultural Program and Civic Ceremony
Friday, September 13; 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., FREE
Held by the Consulate General of Mexico, the annual celebration of the Independence of Mexico takes place in the streets of San Antonio outside Historic Market Square. The highlight of this musical, gastronomic and civic celebration is the historical re-enactment of Mexico’s call for independence from Spain. Activities include live Mexican music, folklorico dancers, as well as food and craft vendors.

| The Pass at Market Square
Open daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., FREE
The Pass at Market Square is a recreation area located at the IH-35 elevated highway underpass between Dolorosa and Commerce streets. It features a family-friendly recreation area that includes a basketball court, ping pong tables, swing chairs and tables, murals, and more. The Pass is free and open to the public daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Paid parking is available nearby in the Market Square Lot, 612 W. Commerce St. Guests can reserve sports equipment by contacting the Market Square Team at 210-207-8600.

Tip off the 2025 NCAA® Men's Final Four festivities with “Hoops on Houston Street”! This free, family-friendly event will serve as the official launch of the Final Four Fan Jam truck and transform a few blocks of Houston Street in downtown San Antonio into a basketball and entertainment extravaganza. Hosted by the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee and the City of San Antonio, there will be activities for all ages including basketball games, fitness challenges, live entertainment and more. The featured attraction will be the Men's Final Four® Fan Jam, a 16-foot box truck wrapped in 2025 Men’s Final Four branding paired with a sport court, and a special press conference and celebrity hoops challenge starting at 11 a.m.

On September 20, metered parking spaces around the world will be transformed into an oasis of activation and innovation as citizens, small businesses, nonprofits, and local government celebrate international PARK(ing) Day. Centro, in collaboration with the 80I20 Foundation, will activate the Houston Street corridor. Architects, creatives, designers, students, small business, and neighbors are encouraged to sign up to sponsor a space. A sponsor is a community group, organization, small business, or activator that “sponsors” a parking spot or streetscape and is responsible for creating/activating a small park or experience within the space.

"Dining with Rolando Briseño: A 50 Year Retrospective" exhibit on display from September 5, 2024 - February 9, 2025
FREE
The first retrospective devoted to Rolando Briseño and his prolific career dating back to 1966. Curated by Ruben Cordova, the exhibition features 75 work grouped into ten thematic sections featuring drawings, lithographs, paintings, photographs, and work in the public art space. The unifying focus of the exhibition is food – from the literal (tablescapes and dining habits) to the metaphorical (cultural mixing and the structure of the universe).

City Tower Sundays offers free parking on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight at the City Tower Garage located at 60 N. Flores St. Entrances to the garage are on Main Street and Flores Street.
