The City of Austin is continuing work to improve safety and mobility along Ross Road and Pearce Lane. As part of this project, the intersection of Ross Road and Pearce Lane will be fully closed starting February 16, 2026, for up to three months.
Detour Information

Ross Road Detour: To access Ross Road north of Pearce Lane, vehicles will detour through the Meadows at Berdoll neighborhood using Alomar Cove and Spiers Way. Business access for the gas station and shops will remain available via Ross Road south of Spiers Way.
Pearce Lane Detour: To access Pearce Lane west and east of Ross Road, vehicles will detour the Los Cielos neighborhood using Las Alas Trail, Campana Drive, Los Cielos Boulevard, Buenos Aires Parkway, Night Sky Way, Noche Clara Drive and Alomar Cove.
No parking will be allowed on streets included in the detour route.
Truck traffic must use Circuit of the Americas Boulevard from SH-71 or Pearce Lane from SH-130.
Fort Lexington Drive Detour: Fort Lexington Drive closed on February 9, 2026, at Lexington Meadow Lane to accommodate work along Ross Road. Traffic is detoured north on Lexington Meadow Lane to Saint Thomas Drive. Work is anticipated to be completed by February 18, 2026.
Planned Improvements
- Two travel lanes in each direction, plus a center turn lane or median
- Sidewalks, shared-use paths, and buffered bike lanes along both sides of Ross Road
- New traffic signals at intersections for improved safety
- Enhanced roadway lighting and additional crosswalks
- Drainage improvements along Pearce Lane
- Water line upgrades along Ross Road

This project is funded through the 2020 Austin Mobility Bond – Substandard Streets Program.
