Brassiewood Local Flooding Project

June 30, 2026 | Williamson Creek | CIP ID: 5789.144

Meet the Contractor on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026

Austin Watershed Protection is hosting a public meeting for Phase 2 of the Brassiewood Drive drainage project, South Pleasant Valley Road Outfall. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about this phase of the project and what to expect during construction! Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Date/Time: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Southeast Branch Austin Public Library, 5803 Nuckols Crossing Road

The Brassiewood Drive drainage project is a multi-phase project to reduce the risk of flooding in the area. Phase 2 includes:

  1. Enlarging the outlet in the detention pond at Aviary Cove
  2. Constructing a new storm drain along South Pleasant Valley Road.
  3. Installing a new outfall on Williamson Creek.

The outlet and the new storm drain will be connected. Together, they will direct the stormwater from the pond to Williamson Creek near the South Pleasant Valley Road bridge. They will help the pond drain and lower the risk of the pond overtopping.

Construction will begin this summer and last approximately one year. We will be working along South Pleasant Valley Road, including the intersections with Creek Bend Drive and Brassiewood Drive. Please expect lane closures as well as detours of sidewalks and bike lanes.

There may be other disruptions from the construction. You can find more information about this project and what to expect during construction on our webpage at AustinTexas.gov/Brassiewood. If you have questions about this project or its construction, please reach out to one of our contacts listed below.
