The Corridor Mobility Program is the development, design, and construction of improvements along key Austin corridors that enhance mobility, safety, and connectivity for all users—whether you drive, walk, bike, or take transit. Prioritization of the improvements to receive 2016 Mobility Bond funding was guided by City Council’s Contract with Voters. Read on to stay updated on news, closures and impacts coming to your area.

Intersection improvements coming to Airport Boulevard 'C1A' segment |

Completion of Phase One work set for September. Including new shared-use paths, upgraded traffic signals and additional PHBs at 55th Street, Bruning Ave. and 51st Street. Phase two work brings a pedestrian signal at the intersection of Airport Blvd and Middle Fiskville Rd.

- Final design and permitting ongoing, construction anticipated to start winter 2026B. Approximately 1.5 linear miles of corridor mobility improvements for Burnet Road from Bright Verde Way to Loop 1.

Final design and permitting ongoing, construction anticipated to start fall 2025. Design, construction of safety and mobility improvements along Burnet Road between Bright Verde Way and US 183 Expressway.

East MLK Jr. Boulevard/FM 969 Corridor Construction project limits |

Design phase expected to wrap up early 2026. Improvements include dual sidewalk improvements up to Johnny Morris Road, raised median eastbound approaching Decker Lane, and signal upgrades at Craigwood and Decker Lane, including a new signal at Sendero Hills.

Enhancements include the expansion to six-lane divided roadway from Mopac to Brodie Lane. |

Improvements are coming to South Lamar Boulevard between Riverside Drive and U.S. 290 |

Project is in final design. Construction will consist of approximately three miles of corridor mobility improvements, including intersection improvements, like new and upgraded traffic signals, on S. Lamar Blvd. from Barton Springs Rd. to US 290.

Phase two construction began this month. Construction is expected to last one to two months per phase, taking place in the right and left lanes, leaving the middle lane open for north and southbound traffic flow.

The closure will last for several months as construction of the intersection is completed. |

Beginning Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Janes Ranch Road will be closed between William Cannon Drive and Ondontra Bend - the closure will last several months.
