Likes:
There were a variety of comments about what visitors like about downtown. Some of the top likes are:

Walkability + accessibility
-
Lights, art + aesthetics
-
Local businesses + shopping
-
Dining + entertainment
-
Community + atmosphere
-

Areas of Improvement:
Community feedback highlighted several key concerns for downtown: vacant storefronts were the most common frustration, followed by challenges with walkability, infrastructure, and parking. Residents also emphasized the need for more retail, dining, and nightlife options, improved safety and beautification through green space, and stronger leadership to guide downtown’s growth.
Perception of the DDA:
Community perceptions of the DDA show strong recognition of its ability to bring investment, support local events and businesses, and lead downtown growth. Feedback also highlighted opportunities to strengthen connections with the community through greater transparency, communication, and accountability.
Marketing & PR:
Some feedback on DDA marketing and communications included that social media is the top way people look for information, but we’re not using it to its full potential. Respondents want more regular updates on events, projects, and grants, and see our newsletter and outreach as a strong step forward.
