Howdy neighbors,
The Office of City Council District 10 remains open for business. Although Councilman Perry is currently on a leave of absence, the office staff remain on duty and are here to serve. Councilman Perry is sincerely sorry to all our neighbors and is asking for your thoughts and prayers. The Councilman’s leave of absence has prompted City Council to implement a process to appoint a temporary member to fill the District 10 seat. Rest assured that the team still has a job to do, and will remain fully committed to serving our community throughout this time. Our office has the full support of City Staff to continue working for the neighbors of District 10, so please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance.
We want to take this time to say Happy (early) Thanksgiving! We couldn't be more thankful for your support, and willingness to better District 10.
Our annual Native American Heritage Month event was a blast! Everyone enjoyed learning how to make corn husk dolls, listen to origin stories, eat delicious food, and most importantly honor Native American Culture. A special thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.
Calling all District 10 artists! We are looking for fabulous artwork to display at our newly renovated field office. If you yourself are an artist, or know of someone who is, please feel free to email us at: district10@sanantonio.gov.
Please mark your calendars for the next District 10 Community Meeting set for Monday, November 21, at 7 PM at the Tool Yard (Northeast Service Center) located at 10303 Tool Yard. Check out our agenda below. This meeting will be live streamed and can be watched here!
Do you have ideas for District 10? If so, the District 10 Team would like to attend your next HOA meeting, or if you'd like to sign up for our Roadshow, we'd be happy to help set that up with you.
Please email District10@sanantonio.gov with the date, time, and point of contact to schedule our attendance at your next HOA meeting. We look forward to hearing from you!
As always, thank you for being active community members and leaders here in District 10. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if we may be of any assistance to you. The District 10 team is on hand and available to address your needs and concerns.
- City Council District 10

Spirit Airlines Celebrates Inaugural Service at SAT
Two Additional Routes Coming March 2023
San Antonio International Airport (SAT) celebrated the arrival of the inaugural Spirit Airlines flight from Orlando International Airport (MCO) today. The ultra-low-cost-airline announced it would launch nonstop service to both Orlando, FL and Las Vegas, NV back in July – giving travelers another affordable option to visit two of the most popular leisure destinations in the country. During the festivities, Spirit Airlines and SAT announced the airline would begin nonstop service to two additional markets. New, daily nonstop service to both Baltimore/Washington (BWI) and Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) will begin on March 8, 2023.
“We are overjoyed to give our travelers more options for family-friendly travel. In July, Spirit said if the community responded to their new nonstops to Las Vegas and Orlando they could add new markets by the time these flights started,” said Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System. “Well, we did it! Due to successful bookings on their new nonstops, Spirit is deciding to invest even more in the Alamo City!”
“It’s exciting to kick off our new service with plans to grow and give San Antonio travelers even more low-fare options to explore popular vacation destinations,” said Lania Rittenhouse, Vice President of Guest Experience, Brand & Communications for Spirit Airlines and President of the Spirit Charitable Foundation.
In addition to these exciting announcements, the Spirit Charitable Foundation commemorated its new service in San Antonio with a $20,000 donation to Soldiers’ Angels. This organization supports the distribution of aid, comfort and resources to the military, veterans and families. The nonprofit’s global network of volunteers works to ensure that those who serve or have served are supported, uplifted and remembered through a variety of support programs for deployed and wounded service members, veterans and their families.

CPS Energy customers will receive a credit from the City of San Antonio in December. High natural gas prices and increased usage during the second hottest summer on record resulted in higher-than-expected revenue to the City. City Council approved returning $50 million back to CPS Energy customers as part of the adoption of the City's Fiscal Year 2023 budget. $42.5 million will be credited to active CPS Energy electric customers based on their July 2022 electric usage. The remaining $7.5 million is designated to help low-income customers through the Residential Energy Assistance Partnership (REAP) and weatherization of homes.

Zero Percent Interest Loans Now Available for San Antonio Small Businesses!
The City of San Antonio, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC), and LiftFund have secured $500,000 in the FY23 Budget for the City of San Antonio’s 0% Interest Program, a program aimed to support the growth of San Antonio small businesses, especially in light of recent economic challenges.
Small businesses located in or relocating to San Antonio city limits can apply for up to $100,000 in 0% interest funding through the program, double what has been offered by the program in the past. The funding can be used for startups as well as the majority of regular business expenses including inventory, payroll, equipment, and working capital.
According to the program website, the initiative prioritizes funding small businesses looking to hire additional staff, in efforts to help create jobs in the city. Those that have not received a 0% interest LiftFund loan in the past two years also have priority, to help those that need support the most.
