Activity guide - Winter enrollment opens Dec. 5

Learning is an adventure that yields lifelong benefits, and learning by doing is perhaps the best adventure of all. This season, learn something new, or sharpen your skills by signing up for a class. The City of Menlo Park hosts a wide range of high-quality classes for all ages at reasonable rates. Fitness, dance, sports, gymnastics, music, drama, arts and crafts, lifelong learning and more. Winter enrollment opens on Tuesday, Dec. 5 for Menlo Park residents, and Tuesday, Dec. 12 for non-residents. Check out the activity guide to find and enroll in classes.

Hands-On Art: Fantastic Trash!

What wonders can you create from cast-offs? Join us for a “Trash-formational” event for ages five–adult. You’ll have a heap of eco-friendly fun creating your own recycled art masterpiece. Choose from the items our teaching artist will have on-hand, or bring in your own materials (just be sure to pack them out again). This free community event received funding support from Friends of Menlo Park Library. The event will take place Thursday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. at Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma St.

Becoming Better Humans

Join us for a community conversation about how we can be better to ourselves and one another. Meet “Better Humans” author Janeane Bernstein, in conversation with fellow mental health advocate and author Kelechi Ubozoh, along with Youth Action Board presenters from Menlo Park’s own SafeSpace. This free community workshop will feature interactive presentations, resource tables, an author meet-and-greet and more. This event received funding support from Friends of Menlo Park Library. Sign up for Photos with Santa Saturday, Dec. 16

The City of Menlo Park will host a Photos with Santa community event at Arrillaga Family Recreation Center on Saturday, Dec. 16. Tickets are $5 per person. Bring your camera and join us with friends and family for a morning full of holiday cheer, including a continental breakfast, holiday crafts and a photo with Santa. Advance registration is required – visit the event page to register.

Colors of Spanish

Babies, toddlers and their grown-ups are invited to join us for a fun-filled Spanish-language storytime full of music and movement. This is a great event for bilingual and second language-learning families. This free community event received funding support from Friends of Menlo Park Library. Teen Tabletop Gaming

Students in grades six–12 are invited to the library to delve into dungeons and go on epic quests! Menlo Park Library’s Teen Tabletop Gaming Meetup meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Virtual Tour: The Troll Hole Museum

Zoom in to Alliance, Ohio with us, to explore the museum housing the world’s largest collection of troll dolls. Guinness World Record-holder Sherry Groom will lead us on a journey through the Troll Hole Museum to unearth the legends, the myths and the magic behind the trolls. This free community event received funding support from Friends of Menlo Park Library. Join us Tuesday, Dec. 5, 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.
