Weaver Park Ballfield Opening & Construction Progress
As we near completion of the Weaver Park investments, we want to acknowledge the community's frustration over this project taking longer than originally anticipated, and we appreciate your patience and continued interest in seeing this enhanced space come back to life. In any project, schedules are predicted as accurately as possible; however, they often shift due to the unpredictable nature of construction, weather, and supply chain delays. We hear your concerns and are working hard to cross the finish line.
We are excited to share some long-awaited news: The Weaver Park ballfield — including the upgraded dugouts and batting cage — will officially open for use on Wednesday, May 13.
While the ballfield is ready for play, work is still ongoing in other areas of the park:
-
Bull Pen: Work continues in this area, and it is not quite ready for public use.
-
Walking Path: Grading and surfacing are receiving final touches.
-
Playground: New equipment is installed, but we are completing final safety features and landscaping before it can open to the public.
-
Restrooms: Public restrooms are currently closed due to an electricity issue and will re-open as soon as we can turn the lights on. A portajon will be available until that time.
Please continue to forward this update to neighbors and friends. While the ballfield, basketball court, and pickleball-tennis courts are open, we ask that you DO NOT enter the remaining areas.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to complete these final steps for our community to connect, explore, and play.
