CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES ON-SCHEDULE!

We are off to a great start on this major road reconstruction project! Our early off-road work has progressed steadily, as the weather has been extremely cooperative, and we have encountered very few obstacles moving forward. As anticipated, these first several months have required minimal traffic management. While one-way alternating traffic operations have been necessary near our construction zones, travelers have reported minor delays.

We have made significant progress.  Most recently we have have begun clearing vegetation and moving earth in preparation for future shoulder additions/road widening on SR-262. So far, our work has been concentrated along the western half of the construction area (see map), but we have also begun off-road activity near the Colorado border.

We kindly ask motorists approaching our construction zones to be cautious, slow down, and follow instructions from our flaggers. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact our project hotline at any time.

Latest Traffic Impacts & Construction Outoook

To maintain safety for crews and motorists, please be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching flaggers.  One-way alternating traffic and pilot-car operations will continue when necessary.  Delays should remain mostly minimal (~ 5-10 minutes).

Late-Fall and Winter Season:  Off-road work during this time will be largely dependent on weather.  At this time, no road paving activity is scheduled, but please check the website frequently for updates.

February and March 2025:  Two sets of crews will begin early prep work for the Montezuma Creek Roundabout, and the bridge reconstruction in Aneth.  Please stay tuned for an announcement on paving start and location as the milder Spring season approaches!
