East Braker Lane Extension
September 2024
NOTICE:
This is an active construction area. For your safety and the safety of our workers, please stay outside of the safety fencing and do not enter the construction area, even when no workers are present.
Project Background
East Braker Lane will extend from its current endpoint at Dawes Place approximately 0.75 miles to Samsung Boulevard. Once complete, the project is expected to reduce congestion on East Parmer Lane and future Safe Routes to School improvements to Taebaek Drive. The project is in alignment with the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan, a comprehensive, citywide transportation plan adopted in 2019. Transportation and Public Works has plans for future Safe Routes to School improvements to Taebaek Drive.

Completed Tasks
- Water line A (48-inch main) is 98% complete.
- Just over 500 feet of box culverts have been installed.
Ongoing Tasks
- Storm line installation is in progress.
- Heavy traffic on East Braker Lane is not expected as construction is off the street.
- Construction trucks may occassionally use Braker Lane, but most vehicles will enter and exit the site from Samsung Boulevard and head north toward Parmer Lane away from residential areas.
- The contractor will ensure the site is secured, but we kindly remind residents in the area to avoid the active construction site.

Water line installation.
