| Free hotel furniture and office equipment for non-profits and schools July 29 – request by July 23

The San Mateo County Sustainability Department’s Surplus Property Program is offering surplus hotel furniture and office equipment at no cost to non-profits, schools and cities within San Mateo County July 29 from 1–3 p.m. at the former Ramada Hotel (721 Airport Blvd., South San Francisco). These items come from recently decommissioned spaces owned by the County of San Mateo and are available during our Surplus Property Shopping Days. Item requests must be submitted by July 23. | Summer Concert Series continues July 23 and 25

The City of Menlo Park Summer Concert Series continues this Wednesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at Fremont Park with a tribute to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers from The Refugees and July 25 at Karl E. Clark Park with Latin tribute band, Maya. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and pack all your favorite picnic essentials as you enjoy an evening of summer music and fun. | Apply for the Housing Commission by July 31

The City is actively seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Housing Commission. The Housing Commission is an advisory body charged primarily with advising the City Council on housing matters, including housing supply and housing-related problems. | Join Menlo Park's free shredding event Aug. 2

Prevent identity theft by shredding sensitive documents at the City’s popular free shredding event, Saturday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. – noon at City Corporation Yard (333 Burgess Dr.). Confidential document destruction includes items such as receipts, checks, pre-approved credit applications, credit card statements, outdated tax returns, pre-printed envelopes, return address labels and business cards. Participants are limited to three boxes (10" x 12" x 15") per vehicle. Please do not bring e-waste or household hazardous waste. Read more...
