Data Collection Near N.C. 115 from McCord Road to N.C. 73 (Sam Furr Road)
For the next several months, residents may notice engineers, surveyors, geologists and biologists reviewing properties and collecting data. They are collecting data in connection with the Town and NCDOT’s project to widen existing N.C. 115 (Old Statesville Road) to a 4-lane divided section from McCord Road to N.C. 73 (Sam Furr Road) in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. These workers will be placing survey markers to identify the limits of streams and wetlands. These markings do not indicate the final location of a proposed transportation project.

Decisions from the Dais
In a unanimous vote September 2, the Town of Huntersville Board of Commissioners approved a strategic pay increase for all sworn officers in the Huntersville Police Department (HPD), aimed at strengthening recruitment and retention efforts amid growing regional competition and rising cost-of-living pressures.
As a result of the vote, the starting salary for HPD officers will increase from $56,196 to $61,000. In addition to raising the entry-level salary, the Town will also implement a $4,800 pay increase for all current sworn officers to maintain internal equity and avoid compression in the department’s pay scale. This will take effect on Oct. 3, 2025.
