Scott Key Center Artwork Featured at Delaplaine Arts Center’s Community Engagement Gallery
FREDERICK, Md. – The Scott Key Center is showcasing artwork created by its clients as part of the Community Engagement Gallery at the Delaplaine Arts Center in downtown Frederick. The exhibition, which opened July 4, features artwork created by Scott Key Center participants and highlights the creativity, individuality, and artistic expression of the individuals supported by the center.
Led by Delaplaine Arts Center instructor David Modler, participants explored new creative techniques and practiced using simple shapes as the basis for their artwork. The Community Engagement Gallery showcases artwork developed through the Delaplaine Arts Center’s programs and partnerships with local nonprofits and service organizations.
The Scott Key Center, a department of Frederick County’s Division of Aging and Independence, provides employment support, community integration, and day habilitation services that help individuals with disabilities build skills, pursue meaningful activities, and participate fully in their community. Through opportunities such as art and creative programming, participants are encouraged to explore their interests, build skills, and engage with the broader community.
The Scott Key Center’s artwork will be on display in the Community Engagement Gallery through August 30. Community members are encouraged to visit the Delaplaine Arts Center to experience the exhibition and celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of local artists.
