Our streets are our responsibility. Vision Zero is a data-driven approach to traffic safety that focuses public dollars on areas that statistically create the most public benefit. This initiative seeks to improve public safety and end traffic fatalities through education, enforcement and engineering projects like crosswalks, bike lanes and better street lighting. We are committed to continuing to work with the community to make our streets safer.

Visit charlottenc.gov/VisionZero to take the Vision Zero pledge and learn more.

Remember: Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent closures from occurring as scheduled and make it unsafe to close and/or reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, The City works directly with appropriate stakeholders to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible and reduce impacts on the traveling public.

Pedestrians walking near event areas should be alert, and cautious and allow extra traveling time. It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available, and abide by detour signage.

Motorists traveling through event areas should be alert and extra cautious. Drivers should proactively obey all signage and constantly be on the lookout for others traveling through event areas.
