| Switch to electric: Gas-powered landscape equipment ban now enforced

As of July 1, Menlo Park has begun enforcing its ban on gas-powered leaf blowers and string trimmers under the City’s Zero Emission Landscaping Equipment (ZELE) Ordinance. The use of these gas-powered tools is prohibited in all residential, commercial and public spaces to reduce air and noise pollution and support a healthier environment. Read more...

| Parkline Project revised to reduce non-residential square footage

The Parkline Master Plan Project, scheduled for the Aug. 25 Planning Commission meeting, has been modified by the applicant to limit non-residential square footage to 1 million square feet instead of the approximately 1.38 million square feet studied in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), which is a net reduction of approximately 380,000 square feet from existing conditions. Community members are encouraged to review the Final EIR, released on July 7, and participate in the Aug. 25 Planning Commission meeting. Read more...

| Apply for the Community Emergency Response Team Academy starting Sept. 11

The Menlo Park Fire District has opened registrations for its September 2025 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Academy. This free program provides community members hands-on training in basic disaster preparedness, fire extinguisher usage, disaster medical care, first aid training, search and rescue techniques as well as neighborhood team building. The next Academy will take place over six sessions from Sept. 11 through Oct. 11. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
