Attend Menlo Park’s upcoming City Council meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12. The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m. 

See the meeting's agenda item highlights below: 

  • H1. Introduce and waive the first reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 12.18 of Title 12 (Buildings and Construction) of the Menlo Park Municipal Code to adopt local amendments to the 2022 California Building Standards Code 

This is a hybrid meeting and members of the public can listen to the meeting and participate in person at City Council Chambers (751 Laurel St.), by telephone at 669-900-6833, via Zoom or stream live.

NNO is a beloved tradition that strengthens the bond between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve. Re-roofing project at Menlo Park City Council Chambers begins Aug. 11

Today, Aug. 11, Public Works begins work on a re-roofing project at the City Council Chambers located at 751 Laurel St. Construction is anticipated to take approximately eight weeks to complete. Read more...

Switch to electric: Gas-powered landscape equipment ban now enforced

As of July 1, Menlo Park has begun enforcing its ban on gas-powered leaf blowers and string trimmers under the City’s Zero Emission Landscaping Equipment (ZELE) Ordinance. The use of these gas-powered tools is prohibited in all residential, commercial and public spaces to reduce air and noise pollution and support a healthier environment. Read more...

Parkline Project revised to reduce non-residential square footage

The Parkline Master Plan Project, scheduled for the Aug. 25 Planning Commission meeting, has been modified by the applicant to limit non-residential square footage to 1 million square feet instead of the approximately 1.38 million square feet studied in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), which is a net reduction of approximately 380,000 square feet from existing conditions. Community members are encouraged to review the Final EIR, released on July 7, and participate in the Aug. 25 Planning Commission meeting. Read more...

Apply for the Community Emergency Response Team Academy starting Sept. 11

The Menlo Park Fire District has opened registrations for its September 2025 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Academy. This free program provides community members hands-on training in basic disaster preparedness, fire extinguisher usage, disaster medical care, first aid training, search and rescue techniques as well as neighborhood team building. The next Academy will take place over six sessions from Sept. 11 through Oct. 11. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Menlo Park residents can unlock big savings on electric vehicles and home appliances through a combination of federal tax credits and rebates from Peninsula Clean Energy.
