Hendersonville voted 'Yes' for the General Obligation (GO) Transportation Bond, here's what happens next
In the primary election, 66.98% of Hendersonville voters supported the City's Transportation General Obligation Bond, showing strong community support for improving our streets and transportation infrastructure.
The City's goal is to have GO Bond projects substantially completed over the next five years, in addition to funded projects. For instance, the City has a bid package out for improvements to Ashe Street and 7th Avenue, with paving, sidewalks, and ADA Improvements anticipated to begin later this summer. Additional projects will follow as staff determine the most efficient and cost effective approach moving forward.
This effort builds on the City’s February 2024 pavement condition study, which highlighted the need for increased investment in maintaining and improving our road network.
Although voters authorized the bonds, they will be issued in phases as projects move forward. For updates on everything GO Bond, please visit www.hvlnc.gov/GoBond.
