Home Repair Fair - May 4th
When a major home repair is needed, it can be challenging for those with limited income to cover this large one-time expense. The Home Repair Fair hopes to connect income-qualified homeowners with programs and resources that are available from the Town of Apex, Wake County, state agencies, or local nonprofits to assist with these repairs.
Stop by the Apex Senior Center (63 Hunter Street) on May 4th between 4-7 pm to learn more! Stay tuned for new information about this event here.

Help Us Keep a Clear Path to Electric Transformers
Our Apex Electric Utilities Department is committed to providing safe and reliable power to Apex residents and businesses. During an outage, Apex Electric crews need quick access to equipment like transformers to safely restore power.
Currently, Apex Electric maintains over 4,500 transformers. Help our crews gain quick and safe access to this equipment by keeping landscaping away from the transformers - with at least three feet of space around the sides and back, and nine feet of space from the front.
Why should you keep transformers around your home accessible?
- Landscaping, especially shrubs and plants, closely located to transformers act like insulation, retaining heat which can lead to transformers overheating and a loss of power.
- Landscaping may hide transformers, making it difficult for our crews to find for during routine maintenance or an emergency.
- Landscaping that's too close to transformers must be removed by our crews, leading to delays in restoring power.
